When we  learn to walk, we might stumble, we might fall. In any case, we get up and take another step. The same applies to life. In whatever we start, if we stumble or fall, we need to get up and take another step forward. Romanian designer, Biance Georgescu continues to stride and does so while creating “new and eccentric shoe designs.”

The passion for footwear design arose from various practices in workshops in Bucharest and abroad. One of the most extensive experiences I’ve had was the internship at Scala Theatre in Milan, where I’ve created stenographic shoes for theater plays. It was an important period because of the perceptive development on the design of shoes as art pieces, but also a functional practice that helped me gain a significant amount of technical and qualitative experience.

By learning to find inspiration in every detail, I found out that all depends on which direction you choose to develop those inspirational grains. I have a passion for research and experimentation with unusual materials and innovative techniques of creation. The shoes I design are eclectic, each creation is unique. Inspiration is spontaneous depending on the situation, mood or atmosphere. The first collection entitled “Qālicheh” had as inspiration the Persian carpets, but also the stories about magic, flying rugs. I found myself fascinated by the idea of looking at a pair of shoes as if they were magical objects that take you where you dream to get and accompany us step by step in life, like a talisman.

The second collection “Decadence” talks about the states of steel structure degradation under the influence of corrosion. I’ve been admiring for some time places affected by weather and time, where corrosion acts on metallic materials to create artistic elements, both in terms of color and structure. I began to investigate this phenomenon in order to retrieve the fusion of colors in drawings. The way nature perfectly balances its creation deeply impressed me.
Certainly, my shoes are created for beauty lovers, for those who prefer products with personality and a story behind, shoes that draw admiration through visual uniqueness. Our clients are fashion enthusiasts, as well as art collectors who acknowledge the artistic value of our products.
